A woman and her daughter allegedly hanged themselves in their house at Vasudevanallur on Thursday night as the woman’s husband passed away three months ago.
Police said Baburaj (45) of Vasudevanallur, who was running an eatery in the same area, died of diabetes-related complications three months ago. Unable to bear the grief, his wife Sankari (36) and daughter Hema Priya (11), who performed a ritual for Baburaj at Papanasam on Thursday, took the extreme step.
The matter came to light on Friday morning.
