Thalavai Sundaram retains post

Former Minister and Rajya Sabha MP N. Thalavai Sundaram has retained his post as Kanyakumari district secretary of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in the organisational elections.

This was announced by party general secretary Jayalalithaa on Wednesday.

Mr. Thalavai Sundaram has been an active member of the AIADMK since 1989. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 1996 and was a Minister in the AIADMK Cabinet from 2001 to 2006, holding important portfolios like PWD, Highways, Health and Revenue.

He was also the party’s State joint secretary and secretary of the advocates’ wing.

After the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Mr. Thalavai Sundaram, who was secretary of Kanyakumari east district, was also made in charge of West district.

Now, Mr. Thalavai Sundaram has retained the post as secretary of unified Kanyakumari district.
