Security has been beefed up at the Cuddalore Central Prison here following a threat letter bearing the name of Al-Qaeda.

According to sources, the letter bearing the name of Al-Qaeda was reportedly sent from Coimbatore a few days ago.

The Cuddalore old town police have registered a case on a complaint from the Superintendent of Prison Sekar.

Police said the letter purportedly sent by an outfit, “Base Movement” had an image of slain Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden and was printed in English.
