More than 400 students of the Swamy Vivekanandha College of Pharmacy participated in an awareness rally in the town on Wednesday.
The rally formed part of the 54th National Pharmacy Week organised by the college. The rally was flagged off from the Government Hospital campus here by Latha, Chief Doctor of the GH.
The students carrying placards and banners with slogans ‘avoid self medication’, be aware of wrong medication’, ‘right drug is a right choice’, ‘always take the right type of drug at the right time’, ‘always extend a helping hand to the HIV affected people’ etc marched through the main thoroughfares before returning back to the starting point.
The students distributed pamphlets en route.
Principal of the college, Anand, chief pharmacist of the Government Hospital, Kaleemullah, and others spoke.
