Pulwama perpetrators won’t be spared: Ravi Shankar

The perpetrators of the suicide attack in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir that killed 44 Central Reserve Police Force personnel will not go unpunished, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Friday.

Talking to journalists at Madurai airport, Mr. Prasad said that the sacrifice of the CRPF jawans will not go in vain.

“There will be an appropriate and suitable response as may be strategically decided,” he said.

Stating that the entire world has condemned the dastardly attack, Mr. Prasad said that Pakistan now stood isolated. “Those who perpetrated, supported and patronised this heinous attack would not go unpunished,” he said.

Mr Prasad, who was scheduled to participate in a series of events organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Madurai, cancelled all the programmes as a mark of mourning. “The BJP firmly believes in secured India and we are standing with our security forces,” he said.

‘BJP expanding fast in TN’

On the political front, he said that the BJP was expanding very fast in Tamil Nadu. The Centre has given a lot of support for development of the State. He listed out AIIMS, smart city projects, port expansion programme at Kanniyakumari at the cost of ₹25,000 crore and highway.

Under the Clean India Mission 10 crore rural toilets had been constructed in India in the last four and a half years as against only only 6.25 crore toilets constructed in the last 68 years. Out of this, 52 lakh toilets constructed in Tamil Nadu.

Under the Mudra yojana, loans worth ₹7.5 lakh crore to 15 crore small businessmen. In Tamil Nadu alone 2 crore loans have been given. The Modi Government has taken full care of Tamil Nadu and the commitment for development of the State would always remain firm, he said.

The Minister claimed that BJP, on its own, will win over 300 seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“On one hand, we have got a strong leader Narendra Modi who has put India in the world map and is working to improve economic growth. On the other hand, the mega alliance of the opposition parties is spurious and opportunistic,” he said.

The opposition alliance has no leader, no programme and had no clue know how to develop the country. All that they want is to remove Narendra Modi who is for development of the country, he charged.
