Process of getting TNPCB’s consent order goes online

From February 20 no manual applications will be accepted

Applications to get Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) consent orders can be submitted only online from February 20.

Collector A. Gnanasekaran, in a statement issued here on Thursday, said, “In response to the announcement made in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, the TNPCB has developed software using the services of National Informatics Centre for receiving and processing applications for fresh consent orders and renewal orders through online. The programme was launched on January 19, 2015. From 20th of February it becomes compulsory for the entrepreneurs to submit applications only online.”

“The applications received will be scrutinised using the software and any discrepancies, shortfalls in the applications and any additional information required to process them will be intimated to the applicant online and the details received on the same mode. After inspections the issuance of consent/renewal orders shall be processed using the software. The system has scope for SMS, e-mail alerts about the information sought from the applicant. Industries can also find out the status of their applications online. The system will ensure speedy disposal of the applications,” he said.

Mr. Gnanasekaran has asked the entrepreneurs to register and file their applications for fresh consent or renewal of consent orders through Online Consent Management and Monitoring System (OCMMS) on the web address: tnocmms.nic.in. Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board’s website www.tnpcb.gov.in also has links to the site.

To assist the entrepreneurs an ‘Assistant Centre’ functions in the office of the District Environment Engineer, TNPCB, Tiruvannamalai located in 541/B, Ashok Nagar, Vengikkal, Tiruvannamalai-606 604.
