Petrol bomb hurled in front of house

Alleged dispute between two families led to the hurling of petrol bomb in front of the house near Thenthamaraikulam in the early hours on Saturday.

According to police, Sornappan, a mechanic, heard a loud noise in front of his house in Ilangamanipuram at about 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Immediately, he along with other family members came out of their house to find a few footwear and other items burning. They doused the fire with water.

On getting information police rushed to the spot and found that three petrol filled bottles were thrown at the house. One petrol filled bottle was recovered from the spot.

In connection with this, a local youth was taken into custody by the night patrolling police team. However the identity of the person has not been disclosed yet.

Thenthamaraikulam police registered a case and are investigating.
