Orientation programme on soft skills

Sessions on societal participation, leadership inculcation through community work, nation-building, environmental protection and personality development constituted a three-day orientation programme on ‘Leadership and Soft Skills’ organised jointly by Anna University, Chennai, and Erode Sengunthar Engineering College.

Inaugurating the camp, District Revenue Officer R. Sathish exhorted the student community to take active part in fulfilling democratic responsibilities in the forthcoming Assembly polls. R. Ramesh, NSS Coordinator, Anna University, Chennai, urged the students to be aware of their social responsibilities and duties and advised them to develop leadership quality through welfare activities. P. Suryanarayanan, retired English Professor, handled a session on ‘Naadu Athai Naadu’, focussing on students’ role in Nation-building. K. Kalidasan, Director, OSAI Environmental Organization, Coimbatore, dwelt at length on environmental protection.

A total of 180 NSS volunteers from various engineering colleges took part.
