Operation Smile — for the rescue of missing children has been launched in the district. A special committee has been constituted for the coordination and sharing of information between various children’s homes run by social welfare department, differently-abled department, labour welfare department, and Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Board. Details of children rescued from bus stands, railway stations, temples, and other public places will be sent to the state child protection committee on a daily basis.
