After presenting a memento, a portrait of Mr. Kalam, Mr. Maraikayar placed his hand on Mr. Haasan’s head and offered his blessings. Cherishing the memories of Mr. Kalam, who had aspired for a developed India by 2020, the actor-politician stepped out of the house and commenced his journey named ‘Naalai Namadhe’ (Tomorrow Is Ours).

Mr. Haasan, staying clear of ideological issues, declared that his priority was to redress the hunger and poverty of the people. “I am more concerned about the hunger of the people than about isms ,” he said.
