Man alleges receipt of fake currency notes from ATM

A private company employee from Pallavilai area in Parvathipuram here allegedly received 14 fake notes in the denomination of Rs.1000 from an ATM of a nationalised bank near the Collectorate on Saturday night. The employee, Ganesh, grew suspicious about the currency notes, got confirmed that they were fake in a commercial establishment and rushed to the ATM again. He said that he had found fake notes in the cash drawn by another person as well. Based on a complaint lodged by Mr. Ganesh with Nesamony Nager police station, a police team rushed to the ATM.

Nobody was allowed to draw money from the ATM after that incident. Nasamony Nager Police are investigating. The shutter of the ATM was partially closed on Sunday.
