A recruitment drive, specially focussing on jobless youths in Srivaikuntam taluk, will be launched at Pope’s College, Sawyerpuram, on June 6, according to Collector M. Ravikumar. In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said around 100 private companies would come to the college to recruit candidates . The employers had come forward to offer 10,000 jobs during the schedule.
The candidates who had completed eighth standard, ITI and polytechnic college diploma courses, undergraduation or postgraduation could participate in the job mela.
Stalls would also be set up by District Industries Centre, Employment and Training Department, District Adi Dravida Welfare Department and Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO).
Additional bus services would be made from Srivaikuntam, Tuticorin and Tiruchendur on that date, he added.
