House burgled

January 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - TIRUNELVELI:

The police are on the lookout for burglars who stole Rs.10,000 in cash from the house of a retired government employee.

Police said Rajaprakasam (69) of Park Town in Valliyoor and his wife Ananthi were away at Nagercoil on Tuesday. As the main entrance of his house remained opened on Wednesday morning, the neighbours informed Mr. Rajaprakasam.

Since the burglars failed to notice an old bag containing 15 sovereigns of gold as it had been kept along with a heap of documents, Mr. Rajaprakasam heaved a sigh of relief. The Valliyoor police have registered a case.
