Swachh Bharat campaign was initiated in Erode Railway Junction on Friday. There was an awareness rally, oath-taking, and planting of saplings to coincide with Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations. The activities were initiated by Station Manager Sivanandan. Under the supervision of Chief Health Inspector Manoharan, conservancy workers distributed pamphlets detailing the dos and don'ts for keeping the platforms and the campus clean.

About 100 people including 40 sanitary workers, 30 vendors and an equal number of autorickshaw drivers stationed at the Junction took out a rally on all the four platforms and handed over pamphlets to waiting passengers.

Saplings

Saplings were planted in the Railway Colony.

The campaign will continue for 10 days, the Station Manager said.
