Car festival at Tiruchengode

A large number of devotees participated in the annual Vaikasi Visakam car festival at the Arulmigu Ardhanareeswarar Temple in Tiruchengode on Sunday.

A large number of devotees participated in the annual Vaikasi Visakam car festival at the Arulmigu Ardhanareeswarar Temple in Tiruchengode on Sunday.

A large number of devotees from Tiruchengode town and other parts of Namakkal district participated in the annual car festival held on Vaikasi Visakam in the Arulmigu Ardhanareeswarar Temple here on Sunday.

The Vaikasi Visakam festival commenced in the temple with the holy flag hoisting on May 13. The car festival fell on the tenth day.

The devotees from more than 100 surrounding villages pulled the decorated car through the main thoroughfares. District Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy, Joint Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department Mangayarkarasi participated in the car festival.

Special prayers

Earlier in the day, special prayers were offered in the temple.
