As part of its third edition of Varnam Erode Vizha, CII's Young Indians - Erode Chapter on Wednesday initiated its six-day schedule to clean and paint walls to beautify the city, with support from Olirum Erodu Foundation.
The painting activity initiated by District Collector S. Prabakar's spouse Sharmila augured well with celebration of Varnam Erode Vizha envisioning preservation of Erode's colourful heritage: history, traditions, culture and heritage. The railways has allowed the Erode Yi Chapter to beautify its walls around the railway station, and railway colony. Erode residents have contributed paint and other materials. Students of schools and colleges are being involved in the creative paintings technically conceptualised by The Paint Box, a Chennai-based entity.
The Varnam Erode Vizha also encompasses conduct of an eye-check camp, blood donation camp, health check up, health tips, and food show. Velu Nachiyar - Multi theatre show, a flagship evt of Varnam Erode Vizha 2015 will be held on August 29.
