Ahead of merger talks between the both factions of the AIADMK, former Minister K.P. Munusamy (OPS camp) said on Monday that they insisted for only two demands — CBI enquiry into former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's death and removal of Sasikala and T.T.V. Dhinakaran from party posts.

Now, a PIL over the matter (Jayalalithaa's death) is pending before the Madras High Court. If HC orders for a CBI probe, the government will do it: Vaithilingam

If O. Panneerselvam has intended for a probe, he could have ordered so when he was the CM, Vaithiilngam says when asked about the two demands of AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma.

The matter over the appointment of Sasikala as general secretary is pending before the Election Commission, says Vaithilingam

AIADMK Amma leader and Rajya Sabha MP R. Vaithiilingam appeals to AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma to come forward for talks.

'Only two demands'

But confusing views have been expressed by the other side, says K.P. Munusamy

"We formed a committee and were expecting their (EPS camp) call for talks".

Since Jayalalithaa's death has raised suspicion in people's minds, OPS has asked for an enquiry, says Mr. Munusamy

"We have only two demands, CBI enquiry into Jayalailthaa's death and Sasikala family ouster. No other demand at all", says former minister K.P. Munusamy.

Both the factions have appointed committees to lead the merger talks on behalf of their teams. While the team of Ministers and MLAs with Mr. Palaniswami have expressed their desire to continue with status quo as far as the post of Chief Minister goes, Mr. Panneerselvam’s team has put across two ‘non-negotiable conditions’. The first is the removal of Sasikala and TTV Dhinakaran from their posts in the party, and second, the government should order an inquiry into the death of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
