January 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:29 am IST - CUDDALORE:

Thanga Kolanjinathan, an advocate at Thittakudi, was awarded seven-day imprisonment by Judicial Magistrate I. Uthama Raja in each of the two cases of criticising the verdict of Judge of the Special Court in Bengaluru John Michael D. Cunha in the assets case of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, and putting up a poster without permission.

Soon after Mr. Justice Cunha delivered the judgment, Mr. Kolanjinathan put up in front of the Tittakudi magistrate court a poster, which said, “Justice is defeated, injustice has won.”

Subsequently, based on the complaint from Village Administrative Officer Suresh Raja police booked the cases against Mr. Kolanjinathan.

Mr. Kolanjinathan was lodged in the Central Prison here on Thursday.
