Advisory to avoid electrocution

September 15, 2018 01:03 am | Updated 01:03 am IST - CHENNAI

As part of its pre-monsoon awareness campaign, Tamil Nadu Electrical Inspectorate has issued safety instructions to be followed by power consumers to prevent electrocution.

Residents have been advised to only use electrical appliances, cables and wires with ISI mark when constructing a new house or renovating their houses. Domestic consumers should connect large appliances only through a three-pin plug with earth point provision. Consumers should approach electricity department officials to prune tree branches where overhead lines are passing through and also avoid going near pillar boxes if rainwater stagnates.
