Cases registered against DMK, PMK cadre

The Dharmapuri police have registered cases against the DMK and PMK functionaries at Papparapatti for violating the election code of conduct.

On the basis of complaints given by Village Administrative Officers in Pikkili village, A. Kesavarajan of Panaikulam and V. Kathiravan of Sigaralaalli villages, the cases have been registered at the Papparapatti Police Station in Pennagaram constituency, police sources here said.

Cases have been registered against the DMK functionaries for violating the code of conduct by using 12 vehicles, including cars, tempos and vans, for campaigning and bringing party cadre without permission. A case under the Protection of Civil Rights Act under section 3 (1) (10) and sections 147 and 323 of IPC has been registered against the PMK functionaries for allegedly abusing a person using the name of a particular community in Siva Colony in Papparappatti town, police sources said.
