Ahead of the Lok Sabha election, the Pattali Makkal Katchi’s special general council meeting chaired by party founder S. Ramadoss is being held at a marriage hall near Puducherry on Saturday.

The special general council will chalk out the party’s strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha election.

Oshada Fernando and Kusal Mendis struck unbeaten half-centuries as Sri Lanka claimed a historic eight-wicket win over South Africa in the second and final test at St George's Park for a 2-0 series victory on Saturday.

Prior to the series, Sri Lanka had not won a game in any format since October but become the first team from Asia to win a test series in South Africa as they comfortably chased down a victory target of 197 on the third day.

R. Kelly, the R&B star who has been trailed for decades by allegations that he violated underage girls and women and held some as virtual slaves, was charged on Friday with aggravated sexual abuse involving four victims, including at least three between the ages of 13 and 17.

West Indies produced a dramatic comeback to beat England by 26 runs in Barbados on Friday and level their five-match one-day series at 1-1. The hosts, who ended a 10-match losing streak in one-day internationals against England, made 289 for 6 with left-hander Shimron Hetmyer hitting a magnificent unbeaten 104 from 83 balls, including four sixes.
