Pakistan slams Alam’s arrest

Pakistan waded into the protests over the arrest of Hurriyat leader Masarat Alam, issuing a statement on Friday night that was bound to evoke a reaction from India.

“Pakistan deplores the brutal use of force by Indian security forces against peaceful and unarmed Kashmiris,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson replied to a question on the “situation in Kashmir.”
