Vaishali Dalmiya, daughter of late Jagmohan Dalmiya, former chairperson of Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI), is one of star candidates of the ruling Trinamool Congress and her campaign is going to feature a number of former cricketers and film stars.

Speaking to The Hindu on Saturday, Ms. Dalmiya said she would start her campaign on Sunday from Belurmath, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission order.

Former Indian captain and president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Sourav Ganguly, is expected to be a star campaigner for her, Ms. Dalmiya said.

“I have known him for 42 years; Jagmohan Dalmiya and Sourav Ganguly are a family. So of course, he will be part of the campaign,” she said.
