The Uttar Pradesh government will fill more than three lakh vacancies in various departments this year to improve governance and deal with unemployment.
The government has already started filling more than 15,000 posts of assistant teachers in the Basic Education Department. It has also announced a counselling session for filling 30,000 vacancies for science and maths teacher in government schools. Furthermore, the government will fill over one lakh vacant posts, including those for constables, in the Police Department and will recruit 3,000 for the traffic police.
“Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has been focusing on improving and strengthening the police force... A major part of the effort is constable recruitment… Other vacant posts in the Police Department will also be filled this year,” a senior official said.
To improve primary education, the government will build two model primary schools in each district. The decision will help to create at least 3,000 posts. “A major plan has been chalked out to improve education, especially primary education... Funds are being provided to build new schools and recruit manpower,” the official said.
The State selection commission is likely to advertise more than one lakh vacancies in various departments. These include over 30,000 ministerial posts. The process to fill them will begin soon. More than 10,000 vacancies in the Employment and Training and Revenue Departments will also be filled.
