Slight intensity earthquake in Meghalaya

A slight earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale jolted East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya early on Tuesday.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the epicentre of the earthquake, which took place at 0055 hrs (IST), was located at 25.6 degrees North Latitude and 91.9 degrees East Longitude.

Its focal depth was 10 kilometre. However, no serious damage was reported.
