Uttarakhand has decided to include the Right to information Act, 2005 in the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) books of classes six to eight. Director of Secondary Education R.K. Kunwar said “ this would only be possible for the next year [2016].”
Additional Director of SCERT R.D. Sharma said there were proposals to include RTI Act in the SCERT and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus from class nine to class twelve. RTI activist Ajay Kumar, who made the proposal, said he had been making the request since 2011.
