Three masked persons armed with swords robbed over Rs.5 lakh from a branch of Indian Bank at Kanchana square under Kodala police station in Ganjam district of Odisha on Monday afternoon.

According to inspector in charge of Kodala police station Kalpana Kauri, this incident occurred at around 2.05 p.m. The robbers allegedly entered the bank and threatened the staff with swords. They took away over Rs.5.11 lakh from the bank. Two of them had worn helmets on their heads and the other one wore a mask. Before fleeing, the robbers broke the CCTV cameras inside the bank premises. They also took away the computer hard disc that was recording CCTV footages. This hinted that it was a well-planned robbery.
