Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will be on a two-day tour of Chhattisgarh on June 15 and 16 and will meet farmers who are affected by power plants in north Chhattisgarh.
“Chhattisgarh PCC chief Bhupesh Baghel and the leader of Opposition in State Assembly T.S.Singh Deo had invited Rahulji to visit Chhattisgarh this month. He has accepted the state Congress’s invitation and he will be visiting Korba and Janjgir Chapa district on June 15 and 16,” state Congress general secretary Shailesh Nitin Trivedi told The Hindu .
The Congress vice president, who has been aggressively targeting Narendra Modi led NDA government since his return from a two-month long “sabbatical”, will interact with the villagers of Kudmura village in Korba district on the first day of his tour. Kudmura village is hit by elephant menace.
On the second day of his tour, Mr. Gandhi will take a 10 kilometre long “padyatra” from Saradih village to Gabra village of Janjgir Chapa district. “Rahulji will interact with the villagers and farmers affected by the power plants in the area,” added Mr.Trivedi. The Congress vice president will conclude his tour with a public rally in Gabra village on June 16.
