‘People disenchanted with Khattar govt.’

June 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - Hisar:

Former Chief Minister on Wednesday said the people of Haryana are “disenchanted” with the BJP government in the State within the seven months of its rule and the saffron party would “draw a blank” if the “Assembly polls were held today”.

“People are disenchanted with this government which has failed to fulfil a single promise it had made to them before last year’s Assembly polls,” Mr. Hooda said while addressing a rally in Mangali village near here as part of his ongoing ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’.

“If elections are held in the State now, the BJP will draw a blank,” the two-time former Haryana Chief Minister said.

Lashing out at the Manohar Lal Khattar-led government, the Congress leader said: “Our party will compel this ineffective, deaf, dumb and immature government to work for welfare of the people through our mass contact and creating awareness among them.”

“During our tenure, we did what we had promised and in the future too we are committed to serve the people in right earnest,” Mr. Hooda added.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress’ Rohtak MP Deepinder Singh Hooda sought the completion of Hansi-Rohtak-Delhi railway line.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Hooda said: “The BJP had made 154 promises to the people before the Assembly elections, out of which not a single has been fulfilled.”

“No government in the past became unpopular in such a short time as the present BJP government,” he said.

“It has failed on all fronts because farmers, employees, traders and industrialists have expressed their displeasure over the anti-people decisions of the government,” he claimed. - PTI
