The three-day Patna Literature Festival opened in the State capital on Friday. This is the second edition of the festival, which aims to carve a niche for itself by giving preference to works in local languages, apart from English.
The event combines discussions and reading from literary works in Bengali, Maithili, Magahi, Angika, Urdu, Hindi and English.
On Friday, well-known Indian novelist Vikram Seth read a selection of his poems from ‘Beastly Tales From Here & There & More’.
Films and music tooBranching out in other forms of art, the event also has discussions on films and music. A jugalbandi of flute and vocal and a session on the Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib are included in the cultural section of the festival.
The session titled ‘The Green Poetry’ will see noted lyricist and poet Gulzar in conversation with author Pavan K Varma.
