The Crime Branch police has arrested one person in connection with the murder of a man from Govandi who was found dead near the railway tracks besides Vashi railway station on Thursday evening.
“The accused has said he wanted to rob the deceased,” said a police officer attached to crime branch, and added, “we are still interrogating him as we suspect there are more people involved in the case.”
Vijay alias Dara Singh who ran a small scale hardware business from his home in Shivaji Nagar, Govandi, was found dead near the tracks with his throat slit and a cutter in his hand.
