Nitesh Rane chargesheeted in assualt case

Panaji: The Goa Police on Friday chargesheeted Maharashtra MLA Nitesh Rane, son of senior Congress leader Narayan Rane, in connection with an assault and criminal intimidation case from 2013.

Mr. Rane, along with several others, wasbooked for assaulting a toll booth operator in North Goa’s Pernem taluk, ransacking the toll booth and criminally intimidating the employees on December 3, 2013. Mr. Rane and his entourage were entering Goa from Maharashtra and were stopped to pay the entry toll.

“The charge sheet has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Pernem,” a police public relations official said.
