Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said on Thursday that the Naga issue should be settled immediately.

He met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday amid reports that the Naga peace deal had been finalised.

Naga interlocutor R.N Ravi and home secretary Rajiv Gauba were also present.

When asked if the meeting pertained to the Naga peace deal, Mr. Rio said, “it was also discussed.”

Mr. Rio told press persons outside North Block, “We are pressing the Naga nationalist groups and the Centre to arrive at a settlement immediately. This is the demand of the common man. For how long we can wait as the negotiation has ben going on for more than two decades,”
