‘M.P. growth rate figures fictitious’

November 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:07 am IST - Bhopal:

Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh on Sunday termed the growth story of Madhya Pradesh based on “fictitious” figures.

He, however, congratulated Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chuohan, who completes 10 years in office on Sunday, a record held by him.

“There is a saying that those who sow a tree will not eat its fruit and the same thing applies for Chouhan also. He is enjoying the fruits of the projects we had initiated,” Mr Singh told reporters.

“The figures of enhanced food grain production are fudged by clubbing it with PDS food grains and selling the produce of other States in Madhya Pradesh,” he alleged.

“Farmers of Uttar Pradesh sold their wheat in Madhya Pradesh as it was giving bonus on MSP which led to rise in production. All these figures are fictitious and fudged,” Mr Singh claimed.
