One policeman was killed in a militant attack on a police post in Sopore area of Baramulla district of Kashmir, police said. The police post was guarding a shrine and an adjacent mosque in Sopore. “Militants have attacked a police post guarding the shrine and a mosque in Tujjar Sharief area of Sopore (52 kms from here) by opening firing,” a police officer said.
He said additional forces have been rushed to the spot and further details of the incident are awaited.
