Militant hideout busted in J&K

Security forces today busted a militant hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, a defence official said here.

Acting on a tip-off, army raided dense forests in Trehgam area and busted the hideout. A huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered, defence spokesman Lt Col J S Brar said.

The recoveries include one machine gun, three AK series assault rifles, 12 pistols, three revolvers, 2,350 rounds of AK ammunition, 97 rounds of machine gun, 10 grenades, one mortar bomb, two rocket propelled grenade boosters, four binoculars, 14 AK magazines and 12 pistol magazines, he said.
