A leadership workshop organised here earlier this week has helped the youths inculcate skills which may be utilised for spreading awareness about gender equality and violence against women.

The intervention, mainly through sports activities, has been made in the second phase of the ongoing Kadam Badhate Chalo (Let us march ahead) project here aimed at training the groups of youngsters with the requisite skills to undertake public events.

The Pro Sport Development collaborated with the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) and Martha Farrell Foundation to organise the workshop in which about three dozen youths participated.

The two-day workshop was held at Umang School for the differently-abled.

The young boys and girls, divided into several groups with a good gender balance, were introduced to new concepts in planning and organising the parameters of space, time, equipment and players while delivering any sports activity.

Each team learnt the skills through separate planning sheets.
