Security forces have recovered a landmine and a pistol from Goudagotha village in Ganjam district.

The explosive and the weapon were found during a combing operation by the CRPF and District Voluntary Force (DVF) in the area on Monday, police said.

Tension prevailed in the area for the last few days following a clash between members of the Lok Sangram Manch, a tribal outfit and the local Krushak Manch, owing to a land dispute. The security personnel had carried out the combing operation following blockade of the road by supporters of LSM for the last two days in the area.
