Ahead of the Assembly polls in Gujarat, the ruling BJP on Wednesday launched the first round of “Gaurav Yatra” from the temple town of Bahucharaji in Mehsana.

The party president J.P. Nadda also launched another route from Dwarka to Porbandar.

In the run-up to the high-stake triangular elections, the BJP will launch five such yatras from different places in two days that would cover different parts of Gujarat. The yatras are expected to cover 144 constituencies in more than a week and would cover a majority of the regions in the State reaching out to different sections of the electorate.

As per the details shared by the party, the routes of the yatra include Bahucharaji in Mehsana to Mata no Madhh in Kutch; Dwarka to Porbandar; Zanzaraka in Ahmedabad district to Somnath of Gir-Somnath; Unai in Navsari South Gujarat to Fagvel in Kheda of Central Gujarat; and Unai to Ambaji in North Gujarat.

The leg of the yatra launched from Bahucharaji will conclude at Mandvi in Kutch on October 20. Many Union Ministers and Central BJP leaders will join the yatra at different locations.

On Tuesday, Mr. Nadda also flagged off a convoy of LED trucks that will showcase the developmental works in the State during the BJP rule. The trucks will go around all 182 constituencies in the State.

From Bahucharaji, Mr. Nadda talked about the development works by the BJP government in the State and at the Centre and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ushering in the politics of development while ending the vote bank politics.
