Insurgents, Assam Rifles exchange fire in Manipur

: There was a fierce exchange of fire between 41 Assam Rifles and insurgents near a mountain village between Namphisa and Khangpak in Ukhrul district on Sunday. Reports said that the exchange of fire took place from 7 to 8 in the morning. The insurgents and Assam Rifles personnel used sophisticated guns and powerful explosives.

Tribal villagers of the nearby villages fled to the mountains during the exchange of fire. The police could not go to the spot immediately.
