Harassed for dowry, woman utters triple talaq

Amid the raging debate over triple talaq, a woman uttered the three words to “divorce” her husband and free herself from dowry harassment. Amreen Bano said ‘talaq’ thrice at the Inspector General of Police’s office in the presence of media.

However, chief Qazi of Meerut, Jenur Rashideen, said there was no such provision for women to divorce husbands in Islam. PTI
