Restoration work is carried out after a rail engine derailed in Ambala on Saturday

The engine of a goods train derailed near Ambala Cantt railway station on Saturday, affecting movement of trains on Delhi-Amritsar section.

The rail traffic was fully restored by 3 pm, said a railway official.

Several trains including Swarn Shatabdi, Shan-e-Punjab and Dadar Express were diverted, said ADRM, Ambala Railway Division, S.K. Sinha.

Sinha, who visited the scene, said an inquiry had been ordered into the derailment.
