Goa Shipyard gets major export orders

“Strategic initiative being rolled out in the past six months have resulted in the Goa Shipyard Limited(GSL) receiving major export orders for two offshore patrol vessels, two Water Jet FACs(fast attack crafts) and 11 FIBs (fast interceptor boats),” said Mr. Shekhar Mital, Chairman and Managing Director of south Goa-based GSL, defence shipyard on Friday.

Mr. Mital was speaking at the Independence Day function at the GSL in Vasco. “We have also been cleared by Government of India, Ministry of Defence for construction of five Coat Guard offshore patrol vessels, the technical discussions for which are presently in progress,” said Mr. Mital.
