Nine members of a gang allegedly involved in credit card frauds were arrested at a Delhi-based dummy call centre followed by a raid, the police said on Wednesday.

Gurgaon police raided the premises and recovered a laptop, 24 walky sets, 8 modems, 8 hard disks, 18 mobile phones with SIM cards and other equipment allegedly used to dupe card holders, the police said. Those arrested are aged between 20 and 30 years and identified as Akash, Bharat Kumar, Love Nayak, Naseeb of Delhi, Irfan of Andhra Pradesh, Prakash, S. Raju, Shankar Gauri Kartik and Sikander of Tamil Naidu.

An investigation into the fraud had begun based on a complaint by a Gujarat-based victim in February 2015 who was cheated of a large amount by the accused, according to a police spokesperson.

On the basis of calls and other records, Gurgaon police traced a dummy call centre at Tagore Garden in Delhi, he said. - PTI
