Free entrepreneurship courses with online lectures from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Sounds incredible?
But this is what is being offered by the American Centre which has launched the initiative to enable young men and women to build their skills.
The course will be a six-week module with content provided by MIT and hosted online through edX which offers interactive online classes.
It will feature in-person discussions with local entrepreneurs, consulate officials and video conferences with successful Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.
Commenting on the initiative, the U.S. Consul-General, Helen LaFave, said this was a learning opportunity for the youth to enhance their skills. “The course will focus on the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in business,” she said.
The American Centre’s programme is part of a worldwide Department of State initiative to highlight freely available Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) from some of the U.S.’ best universities and supplement them with in-person discussion.
