Former MP and freedom fighter passes away

Former Congress MP and freedom fighter Paripooranand Painuli died at his residence in the Vasant Vihar area here on Saturday.

Mr. Painuli was 94. He is survived by four daughters. His wife died last year. His last rites will be performed on Sunday in Haridwar, his son-in-law Manoj Gairola said.

Mr. Painuli had participated in the Quit India Movement at 17.
