Chief Minister Raman Singh has ordered a probe into incidents of alleged suicide by two farmers in Chhattisgarh’s tribal-dominated Kondagaon district.

“Taking serious cognisance of the incidents of suicide by two farmers Dileep Mandavi and Mansingh in Kondagaon, the Chief Minster ordered a probe into it last evening ( Wednesday),” an official statement said here on Thursday.

The General Administration Department has appointed Bastar Revenue Division Commissioner Dileep Wasnikar as the investigation officer in the case.

Mr. Wasnikar will reach to Kondagaon Collectorate on October 3 and will initiate the investigation process.

The probe will be based on three key points: date of death/suicide and in which situations, reason behind death/suicide and description of responsible or guilty persons for the incidents, it added.

The Commissioner has ordered Collector Kondagaon and SP Kondagaon to submit all necessary documents regarding the incidents, it added.

The farmers had allegedly committed suicide last week in Baniya and Visharmpur villages of the district respectively due to unknown reasons.-PTI
