The Madhya Pradesh government wants a bigger State Bhavan in the Capital.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu and asked for an increase in FAR (floor area ratio) for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Bhavan.
Mr. Chouhan said the existing Bhavan in Chanakyapuri fell outside the Lutyens’ Zone and was entitled to enhanced FAR limits following the recent relaxations approved by the Ministry.
“Mr. Naidu has directed the officials concerned to examine the same for further consideration,” said a Ministry official.
Mr. Chouhan has also sought Central assistance for the Sinhasth Kumbh Mela to be held in Ujjain next year, and proposed that a national institute of governance and urban management be set up in Bhopal. He sought the release of funds for completion of various projects sanctioned under the JNNURM.
