CBI files chargesheet in Muzaffarpur shelter home case

ED also summons son, wife of main accused Brajesh Thakur

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which has been investigating the sexual abuse case of Muzaffarpur shelter home, on Wednesday filed a chargesheet at special POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) court in Muzaffarpur. The Enforcement Directorate also summoned son and wife of the main accused Brajesh Thakur, for questioning on December 24 and 26 respectively.

The CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal confirmed that the investigating agency has filed a chargesheet in the Muzaffarpur shelter home sexual abuse case at the special POCSO court in Muzaffarpur.

Earlier, the CBI had said that 21 separate charge sheets will be filed in the case on the basis of statements of the victims.

Over 17 arrested

Over 17 people, including the main accused in the case Brajesh Thakur who was running the NGO to manage the shelter home in a four-storey windowless building near his residence were arrested. Brajesh Thakur is currently lodged in Patiala jail in Punjab.
