Cash, arms seized in Bihar

Authorities on Thursday seized Rs 30.01 lakh unaccounted cash, 14,054 litres of liquor and a haul of arms in Bihar.

The authorities seized Rs 20 lakh cash from Gopalganj district, Rs 4.10 lakh from Katihar, Rs 2.40 lakh from Vaishali, Rs 1.65 lakh from Aurangabad district, Rs 1.08 lakh from Bhojpur district and Rs 78,000 from Siwan district, according to a release from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.

The flying squads and static surveillance squads have so far seized Rs 10.86 crore of which Rs 1.29 crore has been confiscated, while Rs 4.60 crore released to the legitimate owners after verification.-PTI
